Colonel Black Jack Travis is an author, historian, and professional civil war re-enactor. He holds a degree in business administration from Lakeland College with a minor in history. In his professional life, he earned the position as national sales manager for a major orthopaedic company. He also was the owner of Action Orthopaedics, based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Col.Travis also holds a patent and several patent pending on specially designed orthopaedic products. Col .Travis has written several historical articles for national publications, such as The Civil War News, Artilleryman Magazine, and the Confederate Veteran.
